Summer

Biking

Winter Park is dubbed “Mountain Bike Capital USA™”.  You have to experience it!   Take it easy or get crazy...you can find the level of trail you crave all over this place!  

 

Winter Park resort also offers lift-serviced trails on two downhill mountain bike parks. The spring’s thaw, on the once frozen ski slopes, paves way to jumps and obstacles that will challenge every skilled rider.

Hiking

 

There are trails galore all over this area with varying degrees of difficulty.  We have a guide book in the living room to help with planning.  

Fishing

There are four ponds on Grand Lake property that are stocked with fish.  These ponds are catch and release and only for Grand Park residents and guests.  There are hours of fun to be had at these ponds.  Just send the kids out and they will have a ball!  

There are many other small lakes around the area that are public.  There are also several areas to fly fish near by.  

Boating

Take your boat for the day to Grand Lake.  Grand Lake is 30 miles away and is beautiful.  You can also rent boats at Grand Lake.  Check out www.glmarina.com for more info.

The Winter Park area offers four spectacular golf courses with beautiful scenery at every turn.  Check out these websites for more info.

Horse back riding

Hot air ballon ride

I can't imagine a more beautiful place to take a hot air balloon ride than colorado.  Get a birds eye view of the continental divide,  Rocky Mountain National Park and all of the other beautiful scenery this area has to offer.

Alpine slides

 

Winter Park resort is home of Colorado's longest alpine slide and boy is it fun!!  Take the chairlift up and slide right down!  Open June-September.

Includes transportation, safety briefing and a ride on one zipline.
Available at 9am and 4:30pm daily with 24 hour advance reservations.

Riders must be between 75 lbs and 275 lbs to ride. Reservations required. Minimum of three people per Full Zip Tour and five people per High Lonesome Zip Tour. Groups not to exceed nine participants. Larger groups can be accommodated with advance notice. Operation is weather dependent.

Snow Mountain Ranch

Forest Zip Line: Climb up a 35 foot pole or ladder to ride a 600 foot long zip line! Must be

8 or older (no exceptions) and under 250 pounds. $10 per person.

Winter

Skiing

Winter Park is the longest continually operated ski resort in Colorado, and it isn’t an accident that people have loved hitting these slopes for 75 years.

 

So what brings them here?  Is it the amount of snowfall each year, or the number of trails? Is it the location, or the beauty of the area? Or does it simply have a lot of different areas for all skill levels.

 

Spoiler alert:  It’s a little bit of all of those!! Come experience WP!

Tubing

There are many great tubing hills in the area and the best ones are just around the corner from this townhouse.  Tubing is just good fun for the whole family!

Nordic Skiing

 

There are trails right outside our backdoor that are only available to Grand Park residents and their visitors!  This is fantastic exercise if you've never experienced it.  Our whole family enjoys it!  

Other trails are at Devil's Thumb Ranch, Snow Mountain Ranch/YMCA of the rockies and Grand Lake.  

Snowshoeing

 

If you can walk, you can snowshoe!  

 

Jump on the groomed nordic trial outback or at the nordic centers or just find one of the many trials in the Fraser Valley.  Hours of exploration and fun await!  

Snowmobile rides

 

Take a day off from skiing and head out on a guided tour or take off on your on and explore.  Either way, this is sure to be a highlight of your trip!

Dog-sledding

 

If you are looking for something completely unique to do...look no further!  

Dog Sled Rides of Winter Park 

Forty-five minute winter dog sled rides pulled by eight Siberian and Alaskan huskies. Their private trail system near Fraser offers excellent views of the valley and mountains. The trips are fun and educational for all ages and ability levels. Winter sled rides are available with enough snow on the ground which is from about Thanksgiving to Easter.

Bowling

 

Winter Park has the coolest bowling alley around.  It offers 8 lanes, comfy couches and a cool retro vibe!  Grab a cocktail, order a pizza and have some good quality fun!  Reservations are suggested as this place gets busy!   You can play pool, shuffle board or pin ball while you wait!  www.foundry-wp.com

Watch a Movie

 

The Foundary also has a movie theater.  They usually have 2 shows.  One for kids and one for adults!  Grab a cocktail and some food,  kick back, relax and enjoy the show!

Visit the Grand Park community Recreational Center

 

This place has something for everybody to do.  It is just a few minute walk/bike ride or a very short drive down the road to get there.  You can purchase a punch card or daily passes.
